What if I need to excuse my absence(s)?A Parent/Guardian must submit a legible, hand-signed note to the attendance office within 3 school days of an absence. The note must include student’s full name, ID number, date(s) absent, a brief explanation, and a parent/guardian signature. If the note is not received within 3 days, the absence cannot be excused. “…schools may require parental/guardian confirmation of the reason for the absence in writing prior to or upon return from each absence. Verified medical appointments, medical excuses, medical documentation and/or other explanations must be presented in writing by the student from the parent/guardian or personally by the parent/guardian within three days directly following the absence.”
CCSD Regulation 5113 EXCEEDING (10) TEN UNEXCUSED ABSENCES MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF CREDIT FOR COURSEWORK FOR THE SEMESTER. EXCEEDING TEN (10) UNEXCUSED ABSENCES WILL ALSO RESULT IN FAILURE TO OBTAIN A SIGNED DMV APPROVAL, AND WILL ALSO RESULT IN A STUDENT BEING PLACED ON ACADEMIC PROBATION. |
